Corona’s alleged walk out: was he physically sick of the impeachment court?

Most of us have come to expect pandemonium when it comes to the impeachment trials of our public officials and that is usually what we get. I must say that this is one for the books. We all knew that Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona’s appearance in his impeachment trial would be filled with drama. But what we didn’t expect after his long-winded testimony was the added twist in the end, right before Corona excused himself from the witness stand.

The Chief Magistrate of the Supreme Court had a simple explanation for excluding his dollar deposits from his statement of asset, liability and net worth. (SALN). His dollar account was covered by the Foreign Currency Deposit Republic Act 6426, which states that dollar accounts by individuals are absolutely confidential in nature. And his challenge to his accusers, all 189 Congressmen including Senator Franklin Drilon, is to sign a waiver similar to what he signed authorizing the disclosure of his dollar accounts.

According to Corona, if they do not sign the waiver allowing the disclosure of their own dollar accounts, then his interpretation of the dollar secrecy law will be proven correct – that they are not required by law to include their dollar accounts in their own SALN. The first to react negatively to this was none other than Senator Frank Drilon who branded Corona “pathetic” and confirmed that he wouldn’t sign the waiver. Drilon made no secret of the animosity he felt for the Chief Justice by saying “I won’t stoop down to his level”. One wonders why the Senator still hasn’t inhibited himself from being a judge in the impeachment court. Surely he cannot remain objective with his kind of attitude.

After Corona’s remarkable testimony, most of his detractors are still saying that his words are not enough to exonerate him. They are so predictable, indeed. I have been saying all along that Chief Justice Corona’s testimony will not be enough to satisfy his detractors. True enough, a lot of people are now saying that he needs to provide proof to support his statements. Never mind that that was exactly what the defense team was trying to do earlier in the presentation all while being repeatedly told that only Corona could shed light to all the allegations against him. We recall that it was even Presiding Officer Senator Juan Ponce Enrile who was impatiently dispensing earlier testimonies by defense witnesses saying that they are “irrelevant”. But now Senator Enrile is adamant that Corona has to be cross-examined immediately or else his three hour testimony will be stricken off the record; this despite Corona’s poor state of health on his first day.

Private prosecutor, Mario Bautista even denied forcing Corona to testify but the records show that the prosecution has been asking in every day of the trial when the defense team will present their client. When Corona was finally narrating his own defense, however, some of the members of the prosecution team could be seen visibly joking around. It seems they were not really interested in what Corona had to say. Similar attitudes of indifference from the anti-Corona mob was noted with others saying his narration was boring them. It’s as if these people can see his mouth move but they can’t hear him over the sound of their narrow-minded views.

And what’s with some people’s cynicism after Corona fell ill? Is it too difficult for Filipinos to believe that a person could be sick? Does one have to die just to prove that he was sick? What is wrong with our society? Majority of us do not even seem to have an ounce of compassion for a man who was visibly affected by months of persecution by his political enemies. Corona was practically begging for people to hear him out plead for his innocence but his detractors can only give him scornful jeers and more accusations that he is just faking his illness or doing an a la “GMA” supposedly so he can get away from being cross-examined by the prosecution.

It is so easy for Corona’s detractors to ridicule him without bothering to consider what he and his family must be going through. I wonder how these people will handle being under scrutiny by the government, the media and the public for months. I wonder how they would feel about the idea of having the full force of the Aquino government bearing down on them and turning their life upside down.

Yes, the Filipino people’s vindictiveness is in full view once again as they prejudge Corona even before the court does similar to how they prejudged Former President Ferdinand Marcos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Arroyo even before the court rendered a “guilty” verdict. Past witch-hunts did not change the condition of the poor in the Philippines though. It just changed the names of public officials in power.

To be fair, I can understand why some people are disappointed. Corona’s alleged walk-out from the courtroom was unexpected. It seemed like a sign that he was fed up with the Kangaroo Court. I can understand that too. If I were in his shoes, I would be mad at the Senator Judges of the impeachment court as well. Anyone with half a brain should have thrown the baseless and badly-written impeachment complaints filed by Congress out the window even before the trial started. It was probably obvious to Corona that some Senators tolerated the violations of the prosecution because they were allied with the Aquino government. How can you actually respect a court that you perceive to be too biased against you? Corona being only human can be forgiven for thinking that some of the Senator Judges were going to convict him no matter what he said or did anyway.

Most of us have come to expect a circus show when we watch our politicians conduct their “business”. Sometimes it ends with the signature street revolution. Sometimes it ends tragically with someone’s death. For Corona it can end both ways. The Aquino government with the help of the Filipino people and their total disregard for Corona’s wellbeing have already convicted him even before the trial ended. That is the way the cookie crumbs in the Philippines.

  1. Yep, the Rule of Yellow rears its ugly, merciless head… I’m surprised we never abolished our justice system, what with all the trials by media.

I once told a friend who expressed objection to the execution of three Pinoy drug mules in Red China some time ago that our real SC was the Court of Public Opinion, wherein good publicity enables one to get away with anything up to and even including murder. At this point, I might as well be right.

Fact is that you just went full RETARD with what you wrote. Congratulations. 😛

      2. 15.000 peso = fifteen pesos = kinse pesos
20.000 pesos = twenty pesos = beinte pesos
100.000 pesos = one hundred pesos = sandaan piso

        http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/156713/bureau-of-corrections-spent-p204k-for-aquino-red-carpet

        P576,000 for tarpaulin banners
        P203,700 for carpet rent
        P450,000 for airconditioned tent rental
        P221,000 for meals

Grand total of P1,453,700.

        2. FYI, there are a lot of countries who use a comma as a decimal mark instead of the period while the period is used to separate numbers every 3 digits.

Assuming this is a localization mistake, I believe Nelson is located in Europe or Africa (or works for a company from those areas).

Though the rest of his argument fails, I think it’s ignorant to hit him on the uses of commas and periods. He’s just another schmuck who can’t communicate properly to his audience.

  2. “It is so easy for Corona’s detractors to ridicule him without bothering to consider what he and his family must be going through.”

The average Pinoy thinks this way – as long as someone is perceived to be “evil”, it is okay to do evil things to that person and his family. Never mind the fact that when the same thing happens to that Pinoy, he will be asking for pity and call the people ridiculing him as agents of the Devil.

We can’t take the taste of our own medicine.

      1. Proof please – and not just the complainants’ words versus theirs. Anybody can make up a story, especially with money involved.Aand we all know Pnoy did this with the 188 congressmen.

        2. @nelson: Tumigil ka na sa pagsisinungaling mo. Because I have mentioned many times before that Raissa Robles’ blog are full of conspiracy theories and crap just to get many hits. She’s a product of the Yellow Propaganda machine.

Most of Robles’ claims were never submitted in court because most of them have zero credibility. In short, tuluyan nang sira ang credibility mo. So gusto mong maniwala kami sa isang TSISMOSA? Just accept the fact that the ‘truth’ that you’re seeking is something that will make yourself feel better. And questionable sources would never be branded as concrete evidences.

          Oh, and Harvey Keh. 😛

        3. “pumunta ka sa website ni raissa robles”

A yellow zombie citing a yellow website as “proof”. Nothing to see here, guys.

  3. and that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I have been saying all along that whatever the CJ does in defense of himself will be for naught. The impeachment court has already made up their minds. Sad day.

    1. Just like what I said earlier regarding the Court of Public Opinion. Just as anyone with good publicity can get away with practically everything, anyone with bad publicity is basically FUBAR.

  4. i was speaking last night to a delegate from an overseas trade mission.
it was his first visit here and he commented that he wouldnt trust a politician here further than he could throw them into manila bay.
i think the investments will be made elsewhere!

  5. “The Chief Justice of the Republic of the Philippines wishes to be excused.”
    http://www.tribune.net.ph/

This is the line that CJ Corona is reported to have murmured before leaving the witness stand; so, since he wished “TO BE EXCUSED,” which means that he was respectfully requesting permission from the Impeachment Court to leave, I don’t think his leaving should be regarded as a “walk-out” nor as a gesture of open disapproval. One who opts to “walk-out,” of course, never asks “to be excused.”

But CJ Corona pleaded to “be EXCUSED” for reasons that we know now (but were unaware then) of his medical condition. Do these yellow guys not have the decency to just leave CJ Corona alone to suffer or endure a medical condition in silence with his wife, his family? Sadly, under PNoy’s presidency, that sense of decency, of propriety have simply been abandoned and discarded.

    1. he “wished” but did not wait for the approving authority’s approval before “walking out”. that is not a wish that is a show of arrogance.

we know now of his medical condition? yes we know now (based on the senate’s sgt. of arms accounts) that his medical condition allowed him to walk unaided for more than 150 meters from the witness’ chair to the exit and then argue with senate security for several minutes but this same medical condition did not allow him to wait for a few seconds, while sitting comfortably in his chair, for the senate’s approval before walking out.

you are so pathetic. you are willing to defy logic and accept all of corona’s self serving statements hook. line and sinker just to be part of the self-proclaimed intellectually superior minority.

      1. Espresso:

You have referred to me as “part of the self-proclaimed intellectually superior minority.” You got me wrong, wise guy! I’m a bona-fide, card-bearing member of the LIBERAL PARTY, the very same party that Pnoy now heads.
I have been a member of the Liberal Party since 1967–longer than the number of years both PNoy and Senator Drilon have been members of the party combined. I remained loyal to that party even during Martial Law when everybody felt it safer to join Marcos KBL–when Senator Drilon was still licking Marcos ass.

In fact, in the province of Cebu alone, and in Region VII for that matter, I was one of only THREE incumbent city and provincial officials who remained steadfast with the Liberal Party during the time when everybody–like you and your ilk–were hiding.

And sometime early in 1972 before Marcos declared Martial Law, Pnoy’s father personally appointed me in his Senate office to head the Ninoy Aquino for President Movement in the Cities of Lapu-lapu and Mandaue, and the municipality of Cordova in Mactan Island. Ninoy was a personal friend, because we belonged to the same party, a party I served for three 4-year terms (for a total of 12 years) as an elective city official.

In fact, during the three times I was in the U.S. while Ninoy was still in Boston, I had the privilege of having talked to him several times over the phone, having been provided the number by Ninoy himself. And because of our friendship and my membership with the Liberal Party, I was often invited (several times, I lost count) by the military authorities to sleep several nights with them in what was then referred to in Cebu as “Hotel Detention.”

In this light, although retired, I have all the right and the duty to criticize how MY party is now governing this country. And, unlike you, I have all the right and the obligation to criticize what the son of my fallen friend Ninoy is performing.

If you are that old, wise guy, where were you hiding then? But if you are that young, where was your father hiding then? Shame on you!! Email if you happen to land in Mactan International Airport (Cebu) anytime soon.

        1. espresso:

Of course, it’s “related”; it’s related to how you insulted me:

“you are so pathetic. you are willing to defy logic and accept all of corona’s self serving statements hook. line and sinker just to be part of the self-proclaimed intellectually superior minority.”

And I’m offended by that remark; that’s why I want to confront you and give you the opportunity to repeat those words to me face-to-face, one-on-one.

        2. the veiled threat is probably related as well. after all, “under PNoy’s presidency, that sense of decency, of propriety have simply been abandoned and discarded.”

just as it is also PNoy’s fault that Corona is a scumbag.

        3. just as it is also PNoy’s fault that Corona is a scumbag.

Can you be more specific, please. Why do you think Corona is a “scumbag”?

        4. Meriam-Webster defines scumbag as a dirty or despicable person. Amassing unexplained wealth (it is unexplained because your Chief doesn’t want to present documentary evidence to prove otherwise) that is disproportionate to one’s income qualifies one as dirty ergo a scumbag. Lying under oath is another but the first one is enough to prove the point.

        5. When did he say that he didn’t want to present documentary evidence?

He did say he and his wife saved up through the years. What makes you think he was lying?

Can you prove he was lying?

        6. Ahh… probably your bias disallowed you to hear what his counsel, Serafin Cuevas, said during the trial yesterday. They will not present documents to back up your Chief’s claims. Your Chief’s self-serving statements are more than enough.

Shall you continue to ask questions or you’ll start defending your position? It is so easy when you are on the offensive. One can not make any mistake.

        7. You said Cuevas said so, not Corona. According to you, Cuevas said “they will not present”. He didn’t say he didn’t want to.

Since you are the one throwing accusations about Corona, you are the one who needs to prove your accusations. Besides, you have not answered all of the questions. Can you prove he was lying?

How can you prove his savings are ill-gotten?

        8. questions. questions. is it any surprise? if the master is afraid to defend his self-serving statements can the underling be any different. but since you are afraid, let me be the one defending position.

          – the impeachment court already ruled that the client is bound by all declarations and manifestations of his counsel. if Cuevas said that they will not present documentary evidence, it means that Corona will not present documentary evidence.
          – the burden of proof has now transferred to your master. remember that the prosecution side has already produced documentary evidences and the court already declared that there is presumption of regularity in these documents. and so if your master will say that these documents are irregular then it is he that must prove it.

        9. In other words, you cannot prove that Corona was lying and that his savings are ill-gotten.

You seem to be afraid of questions. It’s proof that your accusations cannot stand up under scrutiny.

You are so fond of vilifying people you don’t even know. You even accuse writers here of working for Corona. Such malicious mind you have! And yet you still feel you have the moral high-ground.

        10. ahh. another set of questions. when one’s world view is dictated by bias it is really very difficult to defend positions. it’s good that i am not afraid to defend mine. and so we can keep this one way conversation going.

is your master lying? of course. the other party made an accusation. he said that these are not true. the prosecution already presented documentary proof to back up their claims. and the arbiter already decided that these documents are regular. your master only wants to present his self serving statements as proof.

they can’t both be right your know. so one of them is telling the truth and the other is lying.
to whom shall logic side and to whom shall bias side?

i have to go home now. can probably post again tomorrow. so you have enough time to gather your courage and start defending your position.

        11. Still using the accusatory tone, I see. I hope you will not complain about GRP bashing you, ok? Because everyone can see that you are the one who keeps using ad hominem. You use it to distract from the fact that you cannot provide evidence to support your claim. Notice that all I have done so far is ask you simple questions and yet you fail to answer them directly.

Prosecution presented documentary proof, you say? Are you talking about Corona’s alleged 45 properties that was reduced to five? Most of their evidence were gathered illegally too. Remember the small lady, envelop delivered at the gate and documents downloaded from the net? Only a Kangaroo Court could accept that kind of evidence because of the so-called “liberality”. Liberality ba? But then when Corona excused himself because he felt sick, they were insulted.

        12. Espresso

I never “veil” my threats, wise guy; Cebuanos mean what they say. At my age, I might as well bring one or two, even more with me when I go very soon now. So where and when, wise guy!

        13. the guy that pontificates about “sense of decency, of propriety have simply been abandoned and discarded” now wants to kill me over a post.
and as expected Ms. Ilda and her ilk in GRP won’t do anything about it because they don’t know right from wrong. for them, just as corona must always be right because he is also anti-pnoy, domingo’s action will be justified because he shares the same views as Ilda.

        14. As predicted, you are now crying foul and making it look like you are the “victim”.

As if GRP can actually control what happens outside of this blogsite. If you can’t handle the heat, then quit the ad hominem and stick to the issues. Frankly, if you keep up the nonsense, we’ll just have to put your comments in the spam folder.

I tried engaging you in a civilised discussion but all you care about is accusing us of being in cahoots with Corona. I really don’t want to waste my time any further because I will never get a sensible answer from you anyway.

        15. ahh. as expected, the one threatening to kill is right because he is of the same view as the site. while the one being threatened is wrong and his post must be treated as spam because is of the opposing view.

do you want further proof when i say that your views are dictated by bias and not logical thinking.

going back to the issues at hand. did i not answer all your questions already? did i not explain to you that logic dictates that the one who presented the verified and court-declared regular documentary evidences (this includes the dollar transactions recorded by amlc, in case you will conveniently forget them again like in your previous post) is the one telling the truth and the one whose only proof is believe-me-because-i-say-so is the one lying? did i not explain to you that the burden of proof is now on your Chief?

instead of answering these issues head on, you keep on pretending that they don’t exist and just ask the same questions again and again, pretending that i never answered them.

        16. almost 6 hours after 1 poster threatened to kill another, the powers that be at grp remained silent. because of the very simple reason that they share the same views with the one doing the threatening.

        17. Well, thing is you still FAIL at the challenge issued to you to show proof or at least effort on the part of the prosecution camp to prove that said “wealth” is ill-gotten. Tough luck. 😀

        18. Well, thing is I keep on repeating that burden of proof has now shifted to Corona and his minions. The prosecution side already presented verified documentary evidences about his unexplained wealth that is grossly disproportionate to his income. It’s now Corona and his minions turn to explain his side.
Will you, like Ilda, disregard this, mainly because of bias, and keep on repeating the same questions again and again. Will you, like Ilda, be afraid to defend your position.

        19. @espresso: You’re clearly missing the point here. Most on the verified documents presented by the prosecution are illegally obtained and based on hearsay. Oh yeah, even the prosecution is also known for incompetence and they tend to break the rules in order to get evidence, which you actually love.

And questionable sources should never be counted as ‘evidence.’ You know that.

      2. Close-minded, biased jerk you are, there is no denial that you wanted to see BLOOD.

Who’s pathetic now? What logic you have is YELLOW logic. 😛

        1. “there is no denial(sic)” is used when something is true because it is a proven fact. can you kindly illustrate the facts in my statement that show i wanted BLOOD.

my logic may be YELLOW, GREEN, or BLUE but it is definitely not fallacious. where shall we begin with yours:
          – red herring (checked)
          – cum hoc ergo propter hoc (checked)
          – causal oversimplification (checked)
          – ignoratio elenchi (checked)

          Am I right, utak-squatter?

        4. @espresso: What you have is a vindictive and malicious logic. In other words, TROLL logic.

So you want to see Corona to be fainted in order to convince yourself that he was sick? You’re crazy.

        6. @nelson: Again, you can’t accept the fact that you are also just lying. Maraming naniniwala kay Raissa Robles dahil she is also a product of the Yellow media, even though she’s an ‘investigative journalist.’ Mas maniniwala ako kay CECILIO ARILLO. 🙂

Ikaw ang walang kwentang kausap dito; how many times I told you that most of Robles’ claims never went to court. I dare to challenge her na pumunta siya sa impeachment court in order to prove her claims, pero hindi niya ginawa kasi it will prove na sinungaling siya and she is a lapdog of Abnoy; she repeatedly denied that she met Karen Davilla and even she is suspected for shoplifting.

Parang gusto mong sabihin na “let’s take TSISMIS as truth!” 😛

        7. @daido
at first you said that “there is no denial(sic) that you wanted to see BLOOD” meaning my statements contain self-evident facts relating to my desire for corona’s conviction, which happens to be the topic at hand.
next, you claim that what i have is “TROLL logic” which implies that my statements are off-topic.
which is which really? can you make up your mind. are my statements on topic or off?
haay. such is the problem when small minds try to use big words.
another thing. are the logical fallacies in your previous post still not enough and you now want to defend your position by appealing to emotion?

        8. @espresso: Fact is vindictive and malicious trolls are the ones who have small minds.

It seems you love to vilify people, right?

        1. @Nutzi espresso

Thank you for validating the fact that you are nothing but a black propagandist who uses great lies to make it appear as truth. You would look great in a black SS uniform. Oops! I forgot. You are a yellow pharisee.

        2. when you are finished poisoning the well, can you start addressing the issues at hand?
btw, can not your simple mind comprehend that it is possible that one can be anti-corona without being pro-yellow?

        3. “can not your simple mind comprehend that it is possible that one can be anti-corona without being pro-yellow?”

Can not you simple mind comprehend that it is possible that one can be anti-Pnoy without being pro-Corona/GMA?

          Double standards much?

    2. espresso

Cry guy, here are the quoted words of what this “pathetic” (your word) guy Domingo said:

      –“I’m offended”
–“I want to confront you and give you the opportunity to repeat those words to me face-to-face, one-one.”
–“I never “veil” my threats, wise guy; Cebuanos mean what they say. At my age, I might as well bring one or two, even more with me when I go very soon now. So where and when, wise guy!”

Now, where is the verb “KILL” in these lines?

Instead, what I said was: “I never ‘veil’ my threats,” meaning, as a Cebuano, had I really threatened to KILL you, cry guy, I would have used the verb “KILL,” in bold at that!

But that’s beside the main point now.

When “pathetic” Domingo initially said to cry guy espresso–“I’m offended”–what did the “offended” Domingo expect cry guy espresso to do?

The “offended” Domingo was “patiently” waiting for–and expected–cry guy espresso to APOLOGIZE!! Yes, APOLOGIZE!

To apologize, because that is what a Christian expects another Christian to do which is:

“Our Father … forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”

Sadly, cry guy espresso, did NOT APOLOGIZE (and will NOT apologize) to the “offended” Domingo, in the same way that–the 188 prosecutors (your heroes) have not yet apologized for openly bearing FALSE WITNESS against their neighbour, CJ Corona–a clear violation of the Eighth Commandment (the Fifth, BTW, is: “You shall NOT KILL”)–because, to a Christian, even if CJ Corona is a crook and a liar (or even worse), he is still entitled to that APOLOGY for having been wrongly accused (45 parcels of real property).

I have never met this CJ Corona; I do not personally know him. He is not friend of mine. But CJ Corona is “my neighbour,” in the Christian sense, and he has, to my mind, been offended, persecuted; and I am bound and obligated to side with him.

If cry guy espresso will later on be similarly persecuted; let me know, and you can expect this “pathetic” guy to be by your side.

Meanwhile, stop whining, cry guy espresso, about being targeted for “mafia extermination,” “pathetic” guy Domingo you “offended” is still waiting for your APOLOGY!

      1. ok. let me do the Christian thing and forget what is being alluded to by “I might as well bring one or two, even more with me when I go very soon now”
I apologize for calling you pathetic.

        1. espresso

          APOLOGY ACCEPTED!

But I just want to clarify what you said I alluded to in the phrase quoted. For note that there is an opening line missing in that quote–“At my age.”

For what I was actually conveying is that, since I have finally reached the last leg of my life (just turned 69, with several grand in tow), if ever there is a situation where I am compelled to defend my life and my honor and that of my family, I will I not indulge in useless “veiled threats” anymore, but will confront the situation, fight it out, “stand my ground” and, perhaps, “bring one or two, even more with me” if I have to go.

  6. “And what’s with some people’s cynicism after Corona fell ill? Is it too difficult for Filipinos to believe that a person could be sick? Does one have to die just to prove that he was sick? What is wrong with our society? Majority of us do not even seem to have an ounce of compassion for a man who was visibly affected by months of persecution by his political enemies.”

Anung klaseng pag-iisip iyan? Trial by Ordeal, amp*ta!

    1. Witch hunts and inquisitions, I may add.

If someone made fun of Corona sitting on a wheelchair because of his condition, let’s see if they will also feel the same. And maybe they’ll play victim here.

        1. To put it simply, Corona said that he wished to be excused. Then since he’s a diabetic, he suffered from a sickness which it can cause low blood sugar so kumain siya ng biscuit at uminom ng softdrinks so to raise his sugar levels. Nung nilabas siya sa korte sakay ng wheelchair, pinunta siya sa ICU due to a possible heart attack.

So ano’ng acting dun? Either way, you just want to see BLOOD. Dysfunctional ang pag-iisip mo LOL. It is also pathetic on the DOJ stopping Gloria from leaving the country to seek medical treatment; there is no charge filed against her. That’s why de Lima was cited for contempt. Parang gusto mo ata syang tanggalan ng karapatan e. Also, what PNoy and his minions did was unconstitutional.

Note mo na isa pa rin siyang chief justice na na-pelt ng super-daming mga pambabatikos to the point na naging ad hominem na sila. I’m still convinced na hindi siya nagma-malingering that time, Nelson Ongpungco.

We did a good job, pare. 😀

      2. Oh, Daido, if only there is a Facebook social plugin to Like your comment right here.

Should those people who poke fun at Corona’s condition even play victim here in the comments section?

        1. Thanks a lot, man.

Just look at the bigger picture: if I saw someone on the wheelchair then I should say na ‘acting’ lang iyan w/o any second thoughts?

That is how mob mentality works: they just want to see BLOOD in order to convince themselves. When the late Iggy Arroyo left for the US for medical treatment, they say na ‘Hindi na babalik iyan/Tatakas iyan.’ But when Iggy died, well, you know the outcome.

  7. “Corona being only human can be forgiven for thinking that some of the Senator Judges were going to convict him no matter what he said or did anyway.”

True. Sigurado na yan, yung iba obvious na biased talaga. Napanuod ko siguro atleast 80% of the televised trial. I WAS rooting for the Chief Justice. And it looked like napagtulungan talaga siya(na mukhang ganun nga talaga ngyari).

But honestly, after what happened yesterday, I felt disappointed. The CJ’s camp made a statement, 20 minutes before he finished his opening statement nagstart na daw magblur ang vision ni CJ. He read and even signed a waiver just minutes before he walked out. Wobbly legs daw, e diretso tayo at direretso ang lakad palabas. Atleast man lang diba, be smart when coming up with a reason as to why he behaved like that sana nagisip din sila ng matinong rason, ng matinong palusot… RN ako, and currently in medschool, He didnt LOOK sick. When he was brought back in, on wheelchair, it seemed like he wanted to LOOK sick. But hey, just saying, ganun naging itsura nung ngyari kahapon, atleast for me. @_@ Sayang tuloy.

I-Lechon na si Drilon. Let Malacanang exhaust all of its connections, lahat na ng branches of govt. Pero SANA, bumalik siya. I think he will, ewan ko lang kung hangang kelang nila balak pa patagalin. A friend of mine works at the ICU where he is currently in. Di man lang naka-oxygen daw. He is HIGH RISK, ok sige kung totoo. Pero being at RISK, doesnt mean kelangan ICU ka agad(para lang maconsider ung PROTOCOL daw na kelangan mo magstay for 24?/48? hours).

I know, I contradicted myself right after saying that I was a supporter. Sorry na lang, after kasi ng ngyari kahapon, He just proved right what some fail to realize, NEVER TRUST A POLITICIAN. Ay hindi ba siya polotiko? Sorry. 🙂

      1. the senator-judges make a big deal of this trial as a POLITICAL EXERCISE.

sick or not, the CJ made his own POLITICAL move.

        damn good move, i say.

  8. The CJ has given his side and addressed the people directly. That is enough. He has upheld the honor of the institution he represents by not staying one minute more on the witness stand. “I am no fool”, he declared. Bravo Mr. CJ.

Whatever happens is beyond his and his counsels’ control. He should not return to the senate anymore and let the fates render judgment.

  9. WHAT A JOKE.

Those hypocrite senators accusing someone of ill gotten wealth when THEY THEMSELVES REFUSE to reveal their dollar accounts. So what if they aren’t on trial? Pointing your finger on someone you believe is dirty is only acceptable when you aren’t. HYPOCRITES, I SAY.

      1. Look who’s talking. 😛 Baka ikaw ata ung bakla na putak na

Even Corona himslef signed a waiver to show his assets to the public. But he also challenged Drilon and the188 congressmen to sign theirs. Yun ang sagot sa tanong mo.

      2. Look who’s talking. 😛 Baka ikaw ata ung bakla na putak na putak dyan.

Even Corona himslef signed a waiver to show his assets to the public. But he also challenged Drilon and the188 congressmen to sign theirs. Yun ang sagot sa tanong mo.

  10. Can’t handle the truth, eh? Because you can’t come up with a good argument, you’re now resorting to ad hominem.

It is cool to be part of the mob, right?

    1. He can’t handle the truth coz his brain is too full of yellow crap for it to process information….

  11. I believe he has already nailed down his case, just by his opening statement. He would just have to be a little more patient and bolder, to go on with the circus flow of the trial and to address more bangings from the scornful eyes of the Aquino cohorts.

The next most awaited event is how the senator-judges would vote for his favor.

    The plot thickens.

  12. From a commenter at the GMA News Website about Corona’s failure to take the witness stand this Wednesday:

“Plan A: get sympathy of judges and the people, create animosity in the gov’t
preparation: step 1: don’t eat in the afternoon to look haggard and sickly after step 4
2: emphasize to the crowd that you’re suffering from a disease
    3. deliver with passion as much as possible your prepared speech to sway viewers and crowd.
    4. make them believe that youre going to sign a waiver
    5. create suspense and drama and test whether plan A is successful by walking out of the courtroom to a waiting vehicle to proceed to PLAN B.

PLAN B: Proceed to edsa to create crowd in the hope of creating EDSA 4.
PLAN C: IF unable to achieve PLANS A and B enforce PLAN D
PLAN D: immediately become sick , believable because of step 1 of plan A
: after adjournment , immediately go to the hospital to make sickness believable, in the hope of still achieving PLAN A, make doctor issue statement to buy time and further your cause, now for PLAN E

PLAN E: REGROUP , make another operations plan hahahaha!!”

  13. “The Chief Justice of the Republic of the Philippines wishes to be excused.” -Corona

He was too ill to say he was not feeling well but healthy enough to be arrogant. What BS!

    1. Months of trial by media, mein herr, can literally sicken any SOB. If you’re going down, why not take some of your tormentors with you? It makes sense, ja?

  14. I am sad to hear our fellow pinoys behave in this nature. I really start to question how much stupid filipino drama tvs have degraded the minds of the pinoys. Everyone is shouting crucify him! when they know not what is the real issue.

    its history repeating itself.

  15. What happened was a real life threatening medical emergency. I know about hypoglycemia. My grandmother died because of complications from her diabetes.

Some trolls bothering the last article of Benign0 showed their true colors. They showed sadistic glee in even lying about the Chief Justice. This shows what kind of people the master yellow race is.

True Nutzis! Add the bow well movement 188. The spokesmen of the prosecution continued their black propaganda lies. They claimed that the Chief Justice deliberately walked out. The truth is he never left the premises of the senate. He was taken to the clinic and even had to be brought to the hospital later on in the early hours of the morning. I repeat, diabetes where hypoglycemia is present is life threatening.

Heil the Nutzi Fuhrer BadNoy! Truly the greatest Nutzi genius of the master Nutzi yellow race! The pinned yellow star of david enemies deserves his Nutzi genius hatred! He is supreme! Watch him as he divides, conquers and destroys characters, reputations, scruples, institutions, culture and society! Heil the improved society! Heil the great Nutzi Fuhrer!

      1. @ Nutzi Observer_1

Thank you very much for validating your vindictive, sadistic nature. This proves that all yellow trolls have criminal tendencies. It also is proof of the continuing demonization of CJ Corona and all others who are against the yellow mob.

        1. Nope. The joke is on YOU then.

So it seems that you prefer a government whored by media, telling that everything is ok and never look forward for progress as a society but to be part of a MEDIOCRITY.

Hindi ka na nga makasagot e kasi you are being misled by media so it’s ok to put the people you mention to bars w/o any credible evidence against them. Then what about those who are in the present administration, huh? Utak-squatter ka talaga, bord. 😛

        2. Oh yeah, you prefer a mob society because you wanted to see BLOOD on those who are allegedly corrupt; worse, is to break the rules in order to get the truth.

You never realized the fact that corruption in the AFP have existed before GMA. And the very reason for Angelo Reyes’ suicide is the arrogance of Antonio Trillanes III. Does that make sense?

        4. @bujad: Your last question is for the likes of you. Who told you that corruption is the root of all problems in our society? Anyhow, you don’t even know the meaning of ‘dysfunctional culture’. Am I right?

It all started when Marcos left the country. I’ll call you an idiot if you say that Cory is better but in reality, she is far more worse. If you count ‘fighting against corruption’ can lead to progress, then I feel sorry for you. It’s more than that. We can never move on if that is your way of thinking.

So IKAW naman, ano’ng naitulong mo? Bilang ka rin sa bulok na sistema kasi you tolerate MEDIOCRITY and prefers to blame the people around it than the system itself.

        6. @bujad: Sablay pa rin ang argument mo since you never cited Cory’s admin.

Still, wrong again on corruption. It’s more than just stealing. It seems that you wanted supposed ‘corrupt’ officials like the people you’ve mentioned to be put behind bars yet it is ok for you on PNoy having the biggest pork barrel, his acts of bribery, and his staunch defiance on the rule of law. Isn’t that corruption.

Wala ka talagang naitulong; it’s just the opposite. Do you want to teach your kids to vilify a person, even he is accused? To judge him/her because he was a ‘crook’ w/o any concrete evidence? To bribe people? To mock someone who was perceived as ‘evil’? To be vindictive and malicious? To believe more in incompetent people than those who are competent? Iyan ba ang tinatawag mong ‘kagandahang asal’? In fact, you can’t come up with a good argument since you never explained to me what is the meaning of ‘dysfunctional culture.’

        7. @Daido

Useless makipagtalo kay bujad. Inamin na niyang utak-iskwater siya. They use emotions rather than reason when thinking, and are very narrow-minded and cannot accept opinions and views presented to them that are contrary to the views their yellow master has fed them. Even if those views and opinions are supported by logic and facts.

    1. @bujad

Are you saying that Corona should just kill himself? And you consider yourself someone with the moral high-ground around here?!? You are nuts! You are probably one of those Filipinos who said that Angelo Reyes was a coward for killing himself. Hinde kayo ma-satisfy talaga. I think if it were up to you, you’ll just drag Corona around with a chain on his neck.

Napatunayan mo na ba na nag-nakaw sya?!? Eh sira pala ulo mo eh.

        1. Hehe, so ano ang gamot na iyon? Hindi corruption ang puno’t dulo ng problema sa bansa natin but the dysfunctional culture and mediocrity.

You have been misled by the media, believing that the people you mention are crooks and you just wanted them to be put behind bars because that is what you see on TV. Di ba katangahan iyon? Ang tanging lunas lang is to change your mindset. No wonder why you prefer a chaotic life. In short, TANGA ka.

        3. @bujad: Wrong again. Bumabatikos ka rin ng walang patunay. It seems you’re much worse.

        5. @bujad: Strike two, wrong pa rin. So do your research first

Hindi ko alam ang sinasabi mong ‘bulok na sistema’; probably that is your version since you get it from the media. Sa tono ng pananalita mo, I think you’re an anarchic leftist. And leftists wanted to destroy this country from within.

Source from the record or it was all hearsay, idiot.

  17. Well, Either of the sides have their lapses and doesn’t listen to what others have to say, they want to push what they think it’s right but actually it’s wrong. It’s like a noontime show. We are just like a laughing stock. No wonder other countries doesn’t respect and trust our country, because of our government.

  18. I visited the GMA news website and urge you guys to do the same. You will see firsthand how really vicious the yellow mob is in attacking the CJ with black propaganda lies. See the comments posted below the news bulletins.

I have never seen such gross inhumanity and very apparent human rights violations. The man is already sick. The extreme tension brought about by the continuous demonization triggered his condition.

God forbid. Should CJ Corona die before his time… He will be a martyr and his blood will be in the hands of BS Aquino and his yellow mob.

    1. Someone mentioned Mae Paner’s (a.k.a Juana Change) FB wall update earlier when she said something like “doctors are now conniving with thieves”. As if Corona can actually convince doctors to lie just like that. She was underestimating the intelligence and integrity of health professionals. I just realised that she isn’t that smart.

        1. when iggy went abroad for medical treatment, what did they say about iggy? tatakas, di babalik

          then iggy died…. well…

  20. My heart bleeds for CJ Corona and his family. He was just a victim of circumstances. Who are those convicting senator judges, anyway? Mas masahol pa nga sila, mas corrupt. Pare pareho lang ang mga pulitikong iyan. Kaya, Im not interested to vote. Very frustrating talaga ang Philippine politics.

  21. “I almost resigned.”
“Nag-resign na ako matagal na, ayaw tanggapin,”
“Kung ganoon chief eh kung wala na akong katuturan eh pinakamagaling na hayaan niyo na akong magresign,”

    -Serafin Cuevas

    Kailan kayo mag re-resign?

  22. The scapegoat blame games of der grobe fuhrer EvilNoy will continue. Who will be the next victims? Only his terribly obsessed mind will pick out the next batch of perceived enemies.

Watch him as he destroys characters, reputations and lives. Watch him as he stirs up mob rule with his scheming rabble rousing, black propaganda and trial by mass media publicity. Watch his hypocrisy as he turns a blind eye to his cronies, their expensive mansions and excessive life styles. Watch him as he buys people, politicians, media establishments and personalities. Watch him paint a rosy picture of the country while truth and reality stares us in the face.

Watch Mr. BS Aquino as he forgets the economy, massive unemployment, continuing and impending blackouts, rising prices of basic commodities, rising tuition, school supplies and uniforms. Watch the dictator try to appear as squeaky clean and above reproach. Observe how he treats the enemies of the state. Before his time is up… the situation will not improve. The worst is yet to come!

    1. I think the next victim will be the Congresswoman that signed her waiver! Abnoy will make a statement to toe the line!

  23. YAHOO NEWS POLL
    33,400 votes as of 11:01 PM, May 23, 2012

How would you rate Corona’s testimony?

    a. He was unconvincing. 72%
    b. I believe his statements. 20%
    c. I don’t really care. 8%

      1. @ Daido Katsumi

Oh you mean the 72%, to be precise. And may I ask how did you know they’re “trolls and idiots”? (And I thought you stopped name-calling. Hmm.) And how did you know they’re “misled by media”?

If you can give me a factual answer, that would be “something new”. 🙂

        1. @Princesa Urduja

Surveys can and have been manipulated by the yellow pharisees. You do know what a swarm attack is like? Saturating a survey site is old news. I have seen this trend in sympathetic yellow media, comments, the communications group and survey firms controlled by BS Aquino. By the way, do not use the handle Princesa Urduja. You are not a heroine as your motives are not noble.

        2. @ Daido Katsumi

And still no FACTUAL answer? What’s new.

“Oh yeah, even most Filipinos are gullible.”

Let’ see. According to the survey, 72 % of 33,400 = 24, 048. That’s how many did NOT believe Corona’s conditional-waiver and ill-mannered walk-out turned hypoglycemic-acting testimony. Now the gullible ones were 20 % of 33,400 = 6,680. So I guess the GULLIBLE FILIPINOS were overwhelmingly OUTNUMBERED. Don’t you think so?

          “Hindi mo lang alam iyon.”

          And the survey says? 🙂

        3. @ Der Fuhrer

“Surveys can and have been manipulated by the yellow pharisees.”

Yeah, says Corona, Corona’s wife, Corona’s lawyers, and Corona’s fanatics. 🙂

“By the way, do not use the handle Princesa Urduja. You are not a heroine as your motives are not noble.”

Is someone here turning into a green-eyed monster? LOL Well I don’t pretend to be “heroine” nor “noble”. Sorry if I’d come across as such. 🙂

        4. @PrincesaUrduja: You got no idea on surveys and crap. What DerFuhrer says it’s true that surveys can be biased so your argument is invalid. And just because we prefer the rule of law or a fair trial doesn’t mean we are pro-Corona or something. 🙂

If surveys are not biased, then why the hell many have voted for Noynoy in office? People are manipulated by media giants like ABS-CBN and even Inquirer. Heck, even the SWS and other surveys were also owned by the Aquino’s allies and friends.

Think about it: people blamed GMA because the media highlighted their faults and made her supposedly anti-masa. While the media who are allies with the Aquinos won’t look critically on their mistakes, including the current president’s ineptitude. See the bias?

Do more research, dumba$$. Bravo for your sheer idiocy and ignorance, including your vindictiveness. 😀

        5. @ Daido Katsumi

Again, still no factual answer? Now we know who really manifests “ignorance”. LOL

          “Do more research, dumba$$.”

And that’s what I call a comment of heartfelt “vindictiveness” and absolutely “sheer idiocy”. Congratulations. 🙂

        6. @PrincesaUrduja:

Well, you have just prove yourself as a TROLL. Those I have stated are factual answers because that is what is happening today. People are easily being manipulated by the media so instead of using their brains, they believe on what they see and read.

Congratulations, you’re still ignorant after all. Sorry if I’m not drinking the Yellow kool-aide like you do. If you took off your Yellow glasses off, then you’ll get my point. 😀

        7. @ Daido Katsumi

          Yeah, convince yourself more. 🙂

“Those I have stated are factual answers because that is what is happening today.”

So far, the only thing “factual” here is your fondness for NAME-CALLING.

“People are easily being manipulated by the media so instead of using their brains, they believe on what they see and read.”

Well so far, I do NOT believe everything I’ve read on mainstream media, and even on this blog. I guess I don’t get manipulated easily.

So after name-calling me a “troll”, now you’re trying to color me as “Yellow”? Just because I differ from your point of view? Talking about jumping into conclusion. So if I’m pro-Pnoy as you (and others here) insinuated, then it only confirms my assumption that you (and others here) are a certified CORONA FANATIC. See how your brainless thinking gets back at you? 🙂

        8. @PrincesaUrduja: Just because I prefer the rule of law and and seeing the bigger picture doesn’t mean I’m a Corona fanatic.

It seems you just wanted the CJ to be convicted. Those who are vindictive and malicious are those who are brainless. You said that you don’t want to be manipulated yet you sent questionable sources to convince us that Corona should be convicted. Raissa Robles’ blog doesn’t even count because it seems that it has ‘manipulate’ the likes of you.

Those who accuse someone like myself as a ‘Corona fanatic’ are those who have squatter mentality and just believes on questionable sources as truth. Does that make sense? 😛

  24. Porky Drilon; the Liar Tupas; the 188 Congressmen will never sign any Waiver, to show their dollar accounts. Takot sila, sa maramimg perang binigay ni Noynoy Aquino sa kanila…this is your taxpayers money at work…

  25. “In other words, you cannot prove that Corona was lying and that his savings are ill-gotten.”

I beg to disagree Ma’am. Proving someone lying when you hardly know the person, say you got to know her for only a day or a week then pass judgment on him, that is indeed too premature.

But with Corona po, I think he is hogging the headlines on all broadsheets and tabloids and blogsites for more than half a year na. I tried reading both those parties praising him and those criticizing him but if I put two and two together, it just does not compute. Weighing things including his recent walkout (let’s call a spade a spade please), talagang it points to his guilt.

I made up my mind na. Like the old saw, “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck….”

Like Ms. Ilda, do we need to lift our skirts just to prove that we are both ladies?

    1. But with Corona po, I think he is hogging the headlines on all broadsheets and tabloids and blogsites for more than half a year na. I tried reading both those parties praising him and those criticizing him but if I put two and two together, it just does not compute.

So instead of basing your judgement on the court proceedings, you base it on what you read from all broadsheets and tabloids? Parang gusto kong matawa. And this is your proof that Corona is lying? C’mon. The problem with your reasoning is that it is base on emotion. You should try being more objective. It’s already been highlighted again and again in court that media networks have been publishing unverified reports just to influence the public. It is unfortunate that you are one of those who have been influenced by the media.

I just want to make myself clear. I am not defending Corona. I am trying to uphold the rule of law. Unfortunately, not a lot of Filipinos can understand the concept, which is why you guys think that I am defending him.

      1. “So instead of basing your judgement on the court proceedings, you base it on what you read from all broadsheets and tabloids?”

        – Don’t forget I included blogsites like this. I did not include TV but I get to from time to time, usually channel 7 because it’s clearer.

        “Parang gusto kong matawa.”

        – I don’t object. We all have our funny bones. Actually po, mas natatawa ako kay Corona. Marami pong inconsistencies sa sinabi nya.

“And this is your proof that Corona is lying? C’mon.”

        – How he conducted himself sa Impeachment Court. Parang gusto ko na ngang maniwala nung nag-speech sya for three hours atsaka ng tumindig, umalis at nakipagkamay pa.Kitang-kita naman sa TV. On queue nga po pati yung asawa nya. Upon his return, parang ibang tao yung nagsalita half an hour after. Nakakasawa na po yung “St. Luke Syndrome”. At least this time sa Medical City sya dumerecho.

“The problem with your reasoning is that it is base on emotion.”

I don’t think so. Emotion is pitying him because he is appealing to your emotions even though the he is not good in acting.

“It’s already been highlighted again and again in court that media networks have been publishing unverified reports just to influence the public.”

I thought mayroon kayong ineendorse na mga media like channel 7, philippine star, etc and I read in your past articles you believe in JPE and Sen Santiago. Why all of a sudden nilahat nyo na sila.

“It is unfortunate that you are one of those who have been influenced by the media.”

Palagay ko, tayong lahat influenced by media. It’s just a matter of how we interpret different views.

“I just want to make myself clear. I am not defending Corona. I am trying to uphold the rule of law. Unfortunately, not a lot of Filipinos can understand the concept, which is why you guys think that I am defending him.”

If you so say that you are upholding the Rule of Law, then you should be seeing his latest acts as contemptuous and disrespectful. You should at least say that as it is rather than concurring that such is a brilliant act which is quite appalling.

Sa tingin ko more than six months to decide is long enough. Either you are indecisive or you share a certain similarity with the person.

        1. If you would allow me, the reason why there are people who do not believe he is guilty is because:

          1. impeachment was railroaded in congress
          2. prosecution publicly harassed and released information about the case
          3. evidences were “anonymously” acquired from a small lady, left inside a gate, etc.
          4. data from LRA and AMLC were not authenticated and properly reviewed – as an analyst and presenter, it is very crucial that the data is reviewed to properly provide conclusions and solutions to issues
          5. there was no proof in any of the evidences that showed the amounts were ill-gotten

as far as I know, just like in sales, you need to sell your evidences (product) for people to buy from you. at first they were able to sell it, but since the quality of the product is poor, people started to question the seller and the product itself.

about the length of the trial, again, it was not the defense who prolonged it. the lack of solid evidence and fishing of data from the prosecution did that. you cannot expect a defendant to disclose information that was not even brought up in court, that is incrimination. what a defendant can simply do is debunk the information provided by the prosec.
prosec used the media and emotion, you cannot hang the defendant to appeal to the people in the same manner. that’s double standards.

        2. If I may I would like to butt in and am rebutting the point raise by itchyBB.

(ib)1. impeachment was railroaded in congress

          – CJ’s position was “railroaded”

(ib)2. prosecution publicly harassed and released information about the case

          – SC, through the CJ publicly harassed De Lima and and through Midas Marquez, released misleading information about the compliance of GMA with the TRO.

(ib)3. evidences were “anonymously” acquired from a small lady, left inside a gate, etc.

The Defense team hastily convened for a press conference on an “anonymous” information regarding the bribing of senators. They later recanted their statements and apologized

(ib)4. data from LRA and AMLC were not authenticated and properly reviewed – as an analyst and presenter, it is very crucial that the data is reviewed to properly provide conclusions and solutions to issues

The CJ’s testimonies were all hearsay and inuendoes and will not stand the test of cross examination hence his planned granned exit but the Impeachment Court did not buy it so he came back via wheelchair in the guise of a vegetable without the mental faculties to prove his claims.

(ib)5. there was no proof in any of the evidences that showed the amounts were ill-gotten

Accordingly, when the accounts or amounts are not declared in the SALN, that qualifies as ill gotten. Therefore, the burden of proof lies on the CJ himself. But until today, no convincing counter yet. Just theatrics.

So itchyBB, double standards? Read again.

        3. @DannyD

          CJ’s position was “railroaded”

And you think it was not, because? Fortunately, CJ’s position is backed up by a lot of people’s testimonies. One of them is Tobias Tiangco:

In his testimony, Congressman Tobias Tiangco went on and on about President Noynoy Aquino’s role in the railroading of the impeachment of Chief Justice Corona. He was outright confirming the allegations that the impeachment of Corona was backed by the president’s orders and that the Congressmen were not even allowed to ask questions during the Power Point presentation outlining the hastily and badly-written articles of impeachment. It was damning, indeed. His testimony is consistent with what he said in his privilege speech right after he left the majority bloc in the House of Representatives. Read the following excerpts:

“I do not want trouble with the most powerful man in the country. If the President wants GMA (former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo) jailed for her alleged sins, I am one with him. But in pursuing justice, it must be done in a manner that does not destroy our institutions and more importantly the co-equal status guaranteed bythe Constitution,” Tiangco said.

He claimed that during Monday’s 2:30 p.m. majority caucus at the House, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. only gave lawmakers two choices: sign or not sign the resolution impeaching Corona.

He said Belmonte allegedly did not give the congressmen the chance to question the resolution and read and assess the pieces of evidence against Corona.”And the worst part of it all is that no questions would be entertained,” he said.

Filing of complaints was not in compliance with the law:

Article XI Section 3(2) states that:

“A verified complaint for impeachment may be filed by any Member of the House of Representatives or by any citizen upon a resolution of endorsement by any Member thereof, which shall be included in the Order of Business within ten session days, and referred to the proper Committee within three session days thereafter.”

SC, through the CJ publicly harassed De Lima and and through Midas Marquez, released misleading information about the compliance of GMA with the TRO.

Your statement is so lame. You’re still using the line CJ is the only judge calling the shots in the SC. There were 8 judges who voted yes to issuing a TRO against the travel ban on GMA. And it’s also lame of you to claim that Midas Marquez harassed De Lima. It is the other way around. It was De Lima who was in contempt of court when she defied the TRO issued by the SC.

The Defense team hastily convened for a press conference on an “anonymous” information regarding the bribing of senators. They later recanted their statements and apologized

WRONG. It wasn’t from an anonymous source. They just refused to name the source for confidentiality. That was nothing compared to all the violations of the prosecution including the Ombudsman.

The CJ’s testimonies were all hearsay and inuendoes and will not stand the test of cross examination hence his planned granned exit but the Impeachment Court did not buy it so he came back via wheelchair in the guise of a vegetable without the mental faculties to prove his claims.

His testimonies are backed up by other people’s testimonies including Tobias as mentioned above, Congressman Farinias also said that he didn’t bother signing the impeachment complaints because it was badly written and he wasn’t a fast reader. Do you think other Congressmen who are not even lawyers can read better than Farinias? Check your facts.

He is going to be back today for cross-examination, right? Why don’t you hold on to your opinion about whether his testimonies will stand the test of the cross or not? Don’t be impatient to pass judgement.

Do you have a problem with sick people on wheelchairs? I hope you don’t get sick one day coz you might need to ride on one too.

Accordingly, when the accounts or amounts are not declared in the SALN, that qualifies as ill gotten. Therefore, the burden of proof lies on the CJ himself.

You are basically saying that the prosecution was unsuccessful in proving that he has ill-gotten wealth. Don’t forget about the Foreign Currency Deposit Republic Act 6426 or the Dollar Secrecy Law.

Do yourself a favor and just watch the show this afternoon before writing more fallacies.

        4. @DannyD
Regardless of how you may feel about the CJ, it is still the prosec job’s to PROVIDE solid, indisputable evidence.
Are you telling me that after verifying that there are no 45 titles but only 5 it did not give you any reason to wonder WHY and HOW they had the guts to disclose it in public? Oh and yeah, Tupas lied in court saying they did not do it. hmmm…
All I am saying is they are not good sellers. Their product is of poor quality that is why the nation is divided about this. Not just neutral but DIVIDED. Kung baga sa Coke and Pepsi, I have my preference but I do not mind drinking either, unlike Hermes and LV, I would spend my money on Hermes because of the quality of their bags.
There are some people who wants them to PROVE that the CJ is really impeachable. But just like what I said, in a manner that is lawful and realistic. Not anonymous sources–by the way nauna sila sa anonymous strategy na yan.

“But until today, no convincing counter yet. Just theatrics.”
          – the question there is, what is there to counter? If you can cite all evidences that needs to be countered then do so.
          – theatrics you say. hmmm small lady, LRA head caught unprepared, unauthenticated AMLC data, illegally acquired bank documents, willingness to destroy the banking industry just to destroy a single person, etc.

Dear, do not take me and other “fans” of this trial stupid. Like what I said in my previous comments, I too was disappointed to see CJ step out of the stand, but I’d like to give him a chance to explain himself just as I have given the prosecution my patience to authenticate and give an undisputed evidence which they have failed to do so this pass few months.
So far, the only problem of the defense that has been noticed by many is that they know they have chances of losing because of emotional biases, that the Senator-Judges may well decide based on their political loyalties and it is quite becoming obvious that people would rather believe in grandiose exposes than evidence.
Sabi nga sa CSI – evidences do not lie that is why we need to work hard to prove that the accused is guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
I have been neutral about all this and if you see, I am simply stating the reasons why people believe the CJ instead of the prosecutions.
You’re telling me to read again? Better you do it because I am not in anyway insisting on my POV unlike what you did.

        5. I think all your counter arguments are so lame. So lame in fact you do not even know what a walk out is even if it walks out of your face. When such outright, in-your-face, no-brainer of a stunt is pulled out in front of national TV and you still can not decide (you simply rely on Corona to say that he pulled a dog which was in fact a rabbit), no amount of bias or unprejudiced news or information can straighten your distorted mind.

Walk out…..alleged?! For crying out loud, where’s the common sense there?

        6. @DannyD

You have to be more specific when you say “I think all your counter arguments are so lame”. Cite specific reasons why you think so. Otherwise, it is not lame. 😉

Like what I said to the other poser, the court has accepted Corona’s explanation and apology. They have moved on to more important things. It looks like people like you are just scraping the bottom of the barrel. You are just hanging on to Tuesday’s perceived gaffe. Well, it has all been clarified and it’s all good.

  26. More net articles calling out for the enlightenment of the Filipino people! Meanwhile I’m going to sit here and learn the arcane art of computer hacking so that I could rejoin Anonymous Philippines and hack all the biased media.
