Well well well — charges of sexual misconduct among women. I find it a bit rich in a day and age when people’s timelines are filled with voices decrying women’s victimhood in the hands of men that this latest brouhaha surrounding Gretchen Fullido’s charges of sexual harassment against ABS-CBN News execs would suddenly break. If we are to believe Fullido, it seems ABS-CBN is quite the den of predatory lesbians…
Fullido is suing Cheryl C. Favila, former ABS-CBN News Executive, and Maricar P. Asprec, ABS-CBN News Segment Producer, for sexual harassment, claiming that the two have sent Fullido “text messages that were loaded with sexual innuendos, which amounted to requests for sexual favors.” After Fullido rejected their advances, things became difficult for her at work, with her struggles lasting almost three years.
Fullido also filed libel cases against ABS-CBN news executives, Cecilia Drilon and Venancio Borromeo, as well as news reporter Marie Lozano, who supposedly attempted to ruin her reputation after she filed the sexual harassment complaint. In her affidavit, Fullido stated that Drilon made her feel like she deserved to be harassed because “was willing to wear a bikini with an inflatable pool with bubbles to shove up the ratings of TV Patrol.”
Whoa! Big names there. And the biggest fish of all, Ces Drilon, quoted as telling Fullido that she “deserved to be harassed”! Talk about mud wrestling in the ABS-CBN executive suites! Lol!

It looks like the ABS-CBN News team is the Girl Power equivalent of a men’s locker room. What’s up with this predominantly female management team to begin with? Have they swung the affirmative action pendulum in favor of women too far out that they now grossly over-compensate the Woman Thing? It kinda now makes that other womanocracy — Rappler — quite suspect as well. Maybe that team is also overdue for a similar whistle blower circus as well seeing that their CEO Maria Ressa is an alumna of the toxic fembot culture at ABS-CBN.
Early days of course. Because the defendant here is Yellow network ABS-CBN, the social media chatterati is largely silent on the matter save for the odd retweet of the same set of news snippets every news outlet is reporting.
If Fullido was indeed a victim of these testosterone-pumped lesbian executives, then this latest issue is a lesson to the self-righteousness of the feminist movement. Let’s not be too presumptuous as to apply a blanket assumption that women are victims and men are predators. Just as men can be victims of sexual misconduct too, so too can women — in this case exhibiting the very same pack behavior attributed to men — be just as vile predators.

This stuff should not even be in the news if it’s the subject of legal proceedings.
Yes, I know the Americans do it too; that doesn’t make it right. It compromises the course of justice when every idiot on Twitter and Facebook is passing judgement. Of course, Filipinos don’t care whether justice is served; the judiciary here is just an employment scheme for people who are too smart to work in a call center and not smart enough to get a proper job.
I’ve been with ABS-CBN News for the past 17 years so I know the history of Chair’s rise to power. It started when @maria_ressa promoted Chair to take over the job Maria’s married partner @bethfrondoso vacated. Chair was different from Beth because she rubbed elbows with the anchors and upper management, while Beth kept to herself and just followed the direction of Maria.
Chair was loved by the Anchor like Kabayan, Ted, and maintained good relationships with Ces, Marie and Pinky Webb. This is the main reason why Ces and Marie gave testimonies on Chair’s character, without knowing that Chair altered their statements to suit her case.
All the allegations of Gretchen Fullido on Chair and Maricar, who is Chair’s partner are true. Even the lengthy months of internal investigation proved that, and ABS-CBN let her go. Chair’s press release was she left for “health reasons.” During the course of investigation, Chair maintained her innocence because doesn’t believe she did anything wrong. She didn’t see anything wrong with inviting Gretchen out, asking GF to send her a sexy video. Chair had an unhealthy obsession with GF. She loved her, yet tried to control her at the same time. Chair thought she would win her internal case because of her strong relationships with the Anchors and she had a tight grip on TV Patrol. She couldn’t imagine anyone running Patrol, with her years of experience, and with the company’s freeze hiring, she thought she was indispensable. She was wrong.
As for Ces and Marie, even when they knew before hand that Chair altered their statements, they never bothered to reach out to GF and clear their name. They both didn’t care about GF. While the allegations about them are untrue, they’re still at fault with not truly supporting GF with her cause by informing her of what Cheryl did to them. This is a lesson they are learning the hard way.
As for Management, the mandate was since cases is already filed in court, they will let law dictate what will happen to their people. Now don’t admire ABS-CBN for believing the process and rule of law. Reality is, they’re not worried because they don’t have any legal liability.

It is the first time I have ever heard of Lesbian sexual predators in a mainstream media network. Usually sexual predators are men, looking for innocent and unwilling women,
Sexual predators will always be with us. It is the powerful against the powerless. Sex is not just the main point here. It is showing your sense of entitlement of your being in the higher position in the echelon of the organization.
Sexual harassment is not good. It is evil and it must be a part in any workplace…
Gonna be the same thing, the Leftist “Women’s Right” groups are gonna be silent, while their contracted talent and executives will denounce all blame and attack the accuser, while the Media arm and their fellow “Independent Journalists” will write articles after articles to destroy her credibility. And to put it to a point, this #MeToo garbage by a bunch of actresses playing victim while also profiting from a morally bankrupt industry, has already been politicized, so like any good Global Liberal Citizen, they’ll use whatever is popular in the West to be used here, the entire thing is garbage, but more so to the crooks who’ll use the same dirty tricks to discredit their enemies.

Many of us live in denial of who we truly are because we fear losing someone or something-and there are times that if we don’t rock the boat, too often the one we lose is ourselves…It feels good to be accepted, loved, and approved of by others, but often the membership fee to belong to that club is far too high of a price to pay.
