“Here is the news
Coming to you every hour on the hour”
Last I looked the Philippines is a Catholic country. Pinoys are flawed in many things and by my reckoning many of them go through the motions in terms of being Catholic. What I can not argue is that people show up to go through the motions. Churches are full unlike their counterparts in Europe. Catholic schools here are still seen as prestigious despite the growing popularity of other forms of Christianity.

If we can agree that the Catholic faith is still of some relevance to this country wouldn’t you agree that if significant figures got together in an organized fashion and formally called the current president of the nation a ” danger to the Philippine democratic and republican state and to the peace, freedom, security and moral and spiritual well being of the Filipino people.” , that is newsworthy. Then again that is my bad, applying idealism to this country where a 50 year old nil achiever becomes president not because of qualifications or achievements but solely because his mom died.
If you want more detail on the Lipa Declaration and the Cebu Council Assembly don’t go to ABS CBN News, GMA 7 News, Inquirer.net or Philippine Star. Philippine Star did allow Carmen Pedrosa to talk about her experience in Lipa in her opinion column just as they allow Dr. Elfren Cruz to describe Noynoy as an icon of democracy and peace. Imagine depicting a 50 year old nil achiever who tries to solve the Mindanao conflict cosmetically, craps on the constitution, muzzles free speech and responds to any challenges to his self serving view of reality with tantrums as an icon of democracy and peace.
The media is there to tell you what is there. They are supposed to be a window to the outside not some special effects department. Our media serves the public in terms of executing basic journalistic tenants even worse than Smart Gilas does in International competition. I have no idea why people continuously are proud to be pinoy? Your media aids and abets morons getting into power and staying in power. Your elite aims to keep you all dumb and they are doing a damn good job because the media is in their pocket. There is no greater good. In the Philippines we writhe in our sea of ignorance and we love it.
Whatever side you are on, don’t you think media has you to inform you of what is there? Big outlets totally shut up about this for whatever reason but I suspect that reason involves using YOUR tax money in a way that government is not disclosing to you anytime soon. Do you disagree with me that this is wrong? There is an embargo on anything anti Noynoy regardless of how true it is. Is that a good place for society to be? Again look for the ABS or Inquirer coverage on this and again whether you agree or not should it be covered??
The truth is mainstream media could care less about the truth. Of course it helps than pinoys do not seek it out either. Pinoys value baduy more than anything. Baduy strikes straight to a pinoy’s heart completely rendering the brain superfluous. That is why what is good for pinoys is shunned by the rest of the world. Pinoys are proud that the Philippines is the only country in the world where a homegrown fast food chain beats McDonald’s. Well McDonald’s sure has a lot of experience creating toxic food devoid of taste and nutritional value but Jollibee matches the baduy wavelength of the Pinoy. The difference between the two is McDonald’s still has world wide standards to live up to and Jollibee just has to please people who are mentally stimulated by Erap. Pinoy basketball, TV shows, food , actors are all esoteric to the pinoy way of life. Our news media and our politicians follow suit. You can be the biggest crook and you will have your cult following in the Philippines. What does that say about Filipino taste??
Binay is evil therefore leave Noynoy alone.
— I.M.A. Noytard (@imanoytard) October 8, 2014
Our media does a good job of keeping the country in dark yet you don’t see Noynoy asking for emergency powers to fix them in fact he wants it that way. Noynoy was not exactly a fan of Anderson Cooper’s coverage of a typhoon that Noynoy claimed he was ready for. He was very hurt they showed a side of Mar that he seldom sees: the truth. In 2010 and 2014 The New York Times published stories about Noynoy that he had problems with. Yet big boy media in his own backyard ignore a story that Church leaders question his government’s handling of the elections, PDAF, taxes and Mindanao. The media is there to inform the people how the government is doing. Noynoy seems to prefer that media tells the people what the government wants them to think they are doing. That is why you hear complaints about CNN and the New York Times and never about Inquirer and ABS-CBN.
Putting a very sharp needle into the balloon known as Pinoy Pride since 2012.
See the problem in philippine society is they are making rizal a hero. They are praising the fuck outta him. And other KKK group that happened in the past. Were ,now, we should make them a historical symbol for revolutianism and perfect governance. This is written on litteraly every textbook on philippines, even college ones. I know sad right. Who do we blame that??
And apparently, accusing the vice president of acquiring ill-gotten wealth is more newsworthy.
Ngoyngoy, the Binays, Edgar Erice, and Trillanes are all the same. They’re trying to be neutral and sound like patriotic but having a hard time doing so. Trying to condemn each other but walk the same crooked corrupted path. These jerks should at least have a little shame for wasting taxpayer’s money. Fucking do your jobs as public servants assholes! Too much politics and corruption made your brains smaller each day.

IDK, but the people of the country KNOW the gov’t. is corrupt. it is impossible to not know, so really…WHO IS KIDDING WHO ?
Being honest is frowned upon in the Philippines.
The Media is used by Aquino as a Propaganda Machine. Same as Joseff Goebbels of NAZI Germany used the German Media as Hitler’s Propaganda Machine. The HOCUS PCOS is there to stay…it is a tool of the Feudal Oligarchs, to keep the retarded Filipino people in the Dark Age. So that, Feudalism and Oligarchy will continue…
Hence my point in writing this. This deserves to be mentioned. There are links talking about the press corps giving it their priority in downplaying but again just shows you that the Philippines is more in the dark than Pemberton.
Pemberton may had been making love in the dark; but sensed something was not right of the “woman”, he rented…he may had found out the truth; that the “She” is really a “He”, and was outraged…he was duped…so he killed the scammer…
News is bombarded with binay, laude, pemberton. No one seems to give a shit anymore about this admin’s messes and mismanagement–blinded by the blind curves of daang matuwid. Hardly any space is guven to pressing issues such as the MRT or even Mt. Mayon. Its a good job then that the Bicolanos could be trusted to handle their own problems without help from national government because those epals will just turn that into a media field day.
Bishop: We do not serve presidents
wrong. the Philippines is not a Catholic country; it’s a catholic-majority country.
